Land Use and Construction Support

The Will-South Cook Soil & Water Conservation District operates several programs that address the effects of development upon the area’s natural resources.

With concerns that include the loss of prime farmland, soil erosion and water quality, the SWCD works with County governments and municipalities to ensure that guidelines established by both Federal and State government agencies, including the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), are in place and observed.

While not regulatory in nature, the SWCD also takes complaint reports and make referrals when non-compliance is identified.
