LEOPOLD EDUCATION PROJECT SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM

The Northeastern Illinois Council of Soil and Water Conservation Districts, of which the Will-South Cook Soil and Water Conservation District is a member, is awarding scholarships in amounts up to $500, to students seeking a four-year degree in a Natural Resource field.  Students must be high school seniors or graduates (diplomas or GED certificates), must be enrolled or planning to enroll in a full-time course of study at an accredited four year college or university in a natural resource field, have a 3.0 grade point average or better (on a 4.0 scale), and permanently reside in one of the following counties:  Boone, Cook, DeKalb, DuPage, Kane, Lake, McHenry, Will or Winnebago.   

Application forms are available on line, as well as at local high school guidance offices in Will and South Cook Counties and at the Will-South Cook Soil and Water Conservation District office, 1201 S. Gougar Rd., New Lenox, Illinois, or by calling (815) 462-3106, ext. 3.  All original documents must be received by the Leopold Education Project Scholarship Program Administrator by April 1, 2009.  Any questions regarding the Leopold Education Project Scholarship can be directed to (815) 544-2677.
